In a seat by the windows
In a classroom of flies,
I'll sit one more day;
My corner of lies.
A tiny grey creature
Goes hopping along,
Day after day,
Singing his song.
Of his delicate feathers
Ruff'ling in the breeze,
I sit and watch him,
Comforted, & at ease.
A spark'ling glimpse;
Only moments in sight;
I love how his eyes
Softly catch the light.
In these beautiful, dark,
Yet intelligent things,
I wonder how he feels
Soaring on his little wings.
Then he hops out of sight,
Singing sweetly, "aideu."
And I think, "Little Greybird,
Through a window, I'm watching you.
And I know I shan't see you again,
Though our last chance be tomorrow,
So, goodbye, my little friend;
'parting is such sweet sorrow.' "

I'll let my wounds wide open... I'll let them bleed... Just to remember, my love, the way you teach me to feel...
